I am glad to have had the opportunity to have met, co-tauhgt,teamed, traveled,and shared special moments with Leyvonne Smith. She told me that I was her daughter away from home, and she took me under her wing. Mrs. Smith wil be truly missed at Brighton Elementary, but I know she is now our ANGEL watching over us!!!

I have known Leyvonne since she started working at Brighton Elementary School. She was a wonderful person, teacher, and friend. She touched many lives throughout the years in her loving and caring way. She will be missed greatly.

Leyvonne was more than a sister in law to me but a loving kind spirited sister. How special to have someone with the same birthday as mine. I will truly miss her but I know that God loves her best and never makes a mistake. He saw that she was weary and gave her rest from all of the suffering. We the Slaughter Family want to extend our heartfelt sympathies.

On behalf of Norview MS in Norfolk, I wish to extend condolences to Leyvonne's husband, children, and other family members. Her husband, Mr. Smith, has taught at Norview MS for many years. Both have made a difference in the lives of many children, parents, and co-workers throughout their years in public education. I know Mr. Smith cherished his wife and will miss her greatly. They were blessed to have been together for 37 years.
