Lila E. Pierson May 26, 1911 - June 14, 2011 Lila Pierson of Camas, WA passed away at the age of 100. She was born on the family's farm in Tulare, SD where she grew up and graduated from Tulare High School. She then went on to get her Teaching Certificate and taught in a single room school house to all 8 grade levels in a rural area of South Dakota. In 1936 she married Louis, her husband of 64 years, and a year later they moved to Camas for employment at Crown Zellerbach. During WW II she operated a day care for parents working in the shipyard at the mill. In the 60's she worked in the H R dept, at the Camas mill. Lila was active in the Camas Methodist Church teaching Sunday school and helped out as the financial sectary for many years. Both Lila and Louis loved to vacation and proudly visited all 50 states and enjoyed several cruises. After retirement they spent winters in the Palm Springs, Ca. area. Lila is survived by son Lynn, wife Cathy Pierson of Camas. Grand children Catrina (Corey) Christiansen, LouAnna Pierson, and Jeffrey Pierson and Great Granddaughter Caleigh Christiansen all of Camas. She joins in heaven husband Louis, brother Earl Marzahn and parents Ben and Mary Marzahn of Tulare SD. A funeral service will be held June 21 st 11 :00 AM at the Camas United Methodist Church 706 N E 14th Ave Camas, WA. Vault interment will be at the Camas Cemetery.
