Lillian Carlson was born on September 12, 1915, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Jim and Christine (Hansen) Andersen. Lillian was baptized as an infant, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Hutchinson and attended Hutchinson High School. On May 28, 1938, Lillian was united in marriage to Tyrus Carlson at the Lamson Evangelical Free Church in Dassel, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with 2 children, Richard and Mary Lee. Lillian and Tyrus resided in Chicago until 1956, when they moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota. In 1979, they moved to their lake home in Crooked Lake Township, Cass County, Minnesota. They shared 62 years of marriage until Tyrus passed away on September 19, 2000. Lillian was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She also helped her husband, Tyrus at Ty's Metal Finishing in Hutchinson. She retired in 1979. Lillian was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Lillian enjoyed cross stitching, sewing, quilting, word puzzles and fishing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. Lillian passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at the Woodbury Estate Assisted Living in Woodbury, Minnesota, at the age of 97 years. Blessed be her memory. Lillian is survived by her: Daughter, Mary Lee Fischer and her husband, Jim of St. Paul, MN; Grandchildren, Mark Fischer and Laurie, Christopher Fischer and his wife, Jennifer, Shannon Schrum; Great Grandchildren, Mason, Eva, Annika, Mia Fischer, Morgan and Hanna Schrum; Great Step Granddaughters, Allie and Summer Langness; Sisters, Erma Juhl of St. Paul, MN, Irene Moir of Dallas, TX; Brother, Henrik Andersen and his wife, Dorothy of Mayer, MN; Many other relatives and friends. Lillian is preceded in death by her Parents, Jim and Christine Andersen; Husband, Tyrus Carlson; Son, Richard Carlson; Sister, Asta Larsson; Brother Fred Andersen.
