Lillie Mae Harris, 81, of Casa, Arkansas, left this world on March 30, 2012, to be with her deceased daughter, Angela Kay Harris, and God in heaven. Lillie Mae, or Mamaw as she was called by her children and grandchildren, was born in Homewood, Arkansas, on October 15, 1930.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Alan Russell Harris of Casa, Arkansas; three daughters and sons-in-law Betty and Clinton Brixey of Casa, Patricia and J. R. Morris of Morrilton, and Alene and John Bynum of Russellville.
She is survived and was loved dearly by her nine (9) grandchildren and spouses Shannon (Scott) Smart, Keith (Nicki) Brixey, Tammy Short, Wendy (Robby) Sullenger, Darin (Candace) Brixey, Candace Wagner, Jennifer (Tim) Alderson, Amy (Derek) Whitehead, and Michael Bynum
She is survived by sixteen (16) great grandchildren Morgan (Jake) Pack, Waid Rainey, Courtney Kirkland, Mallory Smart, Chloe Kirkland, Amber Stover, Matthew Wagner, Colt Short, Abby Wagner, Cody Short, Tyler Kirkland, Isabella Brixey, Cailey Stover, Jake Brixey, Grant Alderson, and Patience Brixey.
She was blessed with one great-great granddaughter, her namesake, Paisley Lily-Ann Pack.
She was the daughter of the late Cleve and Viola (Fowler) Kendrick of Adona, Arkansas. She is survived by a sister, Pauline Walden of Adona, and was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. She is survived by many other relatives and friends.
Mamaw's life was centered on her husband and children. She worked at Levi Strauss, sold Avon, operated Lillie's Beauty Shop in Casa, worked at Petit Jean Mather's Lodge, and was a Perry County election official. Her most enjoyable work in life was as a farm wife. She loved to work in her garden, and she canned food for her children and grandchildren. She taught her children and grandchildren to have a good work ethic and have unconditional love for your family.
She will be long remembered for her brilliant Fourth of July fireworks display in her pasture, which she provided for her friends, family and community. Mamaw loved life and gave generously to many worthy causes. She was a good and honest woman. She faced death without fear and remained determined to live each day to the fullest with her husband and children.
Visitation will be at Shinn Funeral Service in Russellville, Arkansas on Monday, April 2, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Casa, Arkansas, on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Joe Phillips will officiate.
Pall bearers will be her grandsons Keith Brixey, Darin Brixey, Scott Smart, Robby Sullenger, Michael Bynum and Derek Whitehead.
