Lillie "Mirlene" Tedford, age 85, of Hot Springs, died Saturday, June 16, 2012. She was born on April 15, 1927 in Mount Ida, Arkansas, the daughter of John Mayberry and Nellie Meeks Mayberry. Mirlene married Elva Lee Tedford on February 13, 1947, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Ernest Mayberry, Arless Mayberry, Woodrow Mayberry, Leroy Mayberry and Raymond Mayberry; and one grandson, J. D. Hughes. Mirlene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is best remembered for her wonderful cooking and always making sure we were all well fed each time we were at her house. She enjoyed sewing and canning from the garden and was Pentecostal in her faith. She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Johnie Tedford of Hot Springs, Elva Dee and Carol Tedford of Comanche, Oklahoma, Thomas Lynn and Nancy Tedford of Hot Springs and John Thomas and Sherre Tedford of Story; two daughters and one son-in-law, Diana Loar of Royal and Melissa and Clint Lansdell of Kirby; her sister-in-law, Katie Tedford of Hot Springs; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 18, 2012 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs. Visitation will be held Monday from 1:00 PM until service time, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Sunshine under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Pallbearers will be, John Tedford, Damon Miles, T. J. Tedford, Kenny Tedford, Eric Tedford, Elva Tedford, Jr., David Miles and Jeff Miles. Honorary pallbearers will be Wanda Sue Phelps, the staff of Montgomery County Nursing Home and the staff of Arkansas Hospice. Guest registry will be at www.davis-smith.com.
