Lina "Lee" Acquaviva Giorgi, 96 of New Haven was born on April 23, 1914 in the Bronx, NY to Giuseppe and Lilia Frezza Acquaviva. She passed away November 9, 2010, with angels heralding Lina's entry into Paradise, lovingly embraced by the comforting arms of our dear Lord. Beloved wife for 33 years to the late John Giorgi and survived by her loving daughter, Carolyn Perrelli of New Haven, along with her devoted granddaughters, Denise Perrelli and Bobette Giorgi. She is predeceased by two sisters, Clara Leombruno and Dora Fontana, and her son in law, Robert J. Perrelli. Lina was a clothing designer and seamstress, working at various dress and coat factories. At 67 years old, Lina earned certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Director. She worked at St. Regis Health Center, bringing much love and compassion to its elderly residents. Through SCCAA and under the supervision of Dr. Cornelia Leavitt, Lina became a Senior Companion at age 78, and finally retired in her 85th year. Lina traveled extensively and devoted her life to her family and friends with love and guidance. She imbued her family with a sense of pride, the importance of family unity, and the power of faith. During her final days, Lina's immediate family was honored to care for her in her home of 55 years. Lina will be missed, but family and friends rest easy, knowing that she has been reunited with loved ones in Heaven. Friends are invited to A Mass of Christian Burial Friday morning in St. Anthony's Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. There will be NO CALLING HOURS.
