Mrs. Linda Joyce Banks Roan was born in Tyler, Texas on September 5, 1952 to Iris Muse Banks and John William Banks. Mrs. Roan graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1970 and attended East Texas State University, where she studied Elementary Education. She married her high school sweetheart, Oscar B. Roan, III in May of 1972 in Dallas. They founded Oscar Roan Ministries with her husband, and they travelled throughout the United States sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ beginning in 1980. During that time, Mrs. Roan recorded more than 15 albums, authored two books, wrote a stage play, and organized the Ladies' Neighborhood Bible Studies. Mrs. Roan passed away November 23, 2011. Those left to cherish her memory are beloved husband, Oscar B. Roan, III; son, Mario Roan and granddaughter, Takira of Rockwall, Texas; son, Quincy Roan, daughter-in-law, Kari Whitaker Roan, and grandchildren, Kaleb and Khloe of Forney, Texas; sister, Yolanda Banks Phillips and brother-in-law, Alvin Phillips, Sr. of Sugarland, Texas; brother, John William Banks, Jr. of Rockwall, Texas; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and other beloved family.
