LINDA L. ROBINSON July 8, 1940 ~ November 24, 2011 Linda - This I will remember When the rest of life is through The finest thing I've ever done is simply loving you. ~ Robert Linda L. Robinson of Vancouver, WA, passed away at home peacefully and she was in no pain, with her family around her. She was diagnosed with a brain cancer, just two months ago. She was born in Portland, OR to Tilford and Laura Ruble. Linda lived in Portland until at 18 years old, she married Robert and then spent 10 years traveling the world with him while he served in the U.S. Army. She then lived in Vancouver for the next 43 years. Linda and Robert would have been married 54 years on Dec. 27th. Linda taught piano to many children and adults for over 30 years. She not only taught the notes but also the love of music. She accompanied a ladies singing group for about 20 years called The Song Spinners and once performed in the Schnitzer Cultural Center and once for a one-woman show of piano and singing at First Methodist in Vancouver, WA. Linda was also a church organist and pianist for two Methodist churches for a total of 30 years. She accompanied and sang with the Columbia Chorale Ensemble on tours to Europe and Australia and New Zealand. Linda especially enjoyed playing some cathedral pipe organs during a trip to Italy. Linda was a bird lover, even to the very last, we had her hospital bed in the living room, so she could see "her" birds. Linda is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Robert; daughter, Sheri Meredith; son, Randi Robinson; sister, Grace Bell; brother, C. Ray Ruble; and one grandson, Walden Robinson. There will be a memorial service at the Academy Chapel at 400 E. Evergreen Blvd. on Sat., Dec. 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. The music played before the service is a collection of Linda's favorite piano selections played by her. Robert and family wish to express our sincere thanks to the Kaiser Hospice team who treated us so lovingly and respectfully.
