Linda L. Shepherd, 68, of Marshall, died peacefully in her home January 21, 2013 surrounded by her family. Linda was born January 24, 1944, in Marshall to Keith and Lila (Cooper) Miller. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1962. On April 23, 1966, she married Halbert Shepherd in Marshall. Linda was a home maker staying home to raise her children. She was a familiar face at Louie's Bakery for 45 years, and worked there until she was diagnosed in 2012. Linda enjoyed traveling, shopping, and taking trips to the casino. Linda loved to be the jokester, and would always enjoy harassing people. She loved her family and especially loved time spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Halbert of Marshall, children Eric Shepherd of Marshall, Julie (Carl Back) Lewis of Eckford, and Stacey Shepherd of Marshall. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Courtney Shepherd, Megan Lewis, Alisen Shepherd, Zachary Lewis, two brothers Pete (Nancy) Miller, Jon (Barb) Miller both of Battle Creek, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson Ryan Rantz. Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 2-8pm with family present to greet friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Funeral services celebrating her life will take place at 11am on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home with Reverend Len Schoenherr officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. Family will gather with friends at the Marshall VFW Hall following the cemetery services. Memorial contributions are requested to the family. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home.
