Linda Yvonne Hensel

Linda Hensel (Nov. 17 1950 – Aug. 11, 2011) beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. Linda lost her long and valiant battle with cancer and has gone on to be with her heavenly Father. She is survived by her husband Jim, daughters Stephanie and Karen (Darren), her parents Jerry and Pearl Spurgeon, her brother Michael (Diane), her sisters Diana (Rich), Colleen (Jim), Kathy (Dan), her grandchildren Kyle, Alison and Katie, her nephews RJ, Anton, and Wyatt, and niece Houston.
Linda was an avid volunteer and spent years giving her time to Westside Christian School and Paraclete High School. Family meant everything to Linda and she loved to cook and entertain family and friends. Linda was a shining example of a giving spirit. Throughout her long battle with cancer, she never complained and she always kept a positive attitude even in the most challenging circumstances.
In lieu of flowers Linda requested that donations be given to the American Cancer Society. Services will be held Friday August 19th at 5:00 pm at Halley Olsen Funeral Chapel.
