Linwood Jones Obituary

Linwood "Fuzzy" Jones of Chester Township, Pennsylvania, was born on March 5, 1921 to Charles and Suzie Jones. He was one of 11 siblings. Linwood graduated from Chester High School and after he graduated, worked at the Allied Chemical Plant in Marcus Hook for 33 years before retiring. He also served as an Executive Committee Member of the NAACP Chester Branch. Linwood was united in holy matrimony to the late Doris M. Goldsborough (Jones). Linwood and Doris became the proud parents of eight children. Linwood was a generous and creative man who enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, listening to golden oldies and working with his hands. Linwood leaves to cherish his memory: four sons Dorlindus of Norfolk, Virginia; Ulandus (Lisa), of Chester, Pennsylvania; Brian of Chester, Pennsylvania; and Michael of Woodlyn, Pennsylvania and four daughters: the late Lindoras Johnson (William) of Woodlyn, Pennsylvania; Yvonne McCall (Thomas) of Chester, Pennsylvania; Shermaine Jones of Columbia, Maryland; and Nilene Briddell (Lamont) of Chester, Pennsylvania; 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren and his long time companion, Ms. Dorothy Dallam of Chester Township, Pennsylvania. We find comfort in the assurance of the words of the Apostle Paul that "To be absent from this life is to be present with the Lord." II Corinthians 5:6.
