Lloyd Greenfield, 90, of Fort Wayne, IN went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28th, 2009 at Parkview Memorial Hospital. Mr. Greenfield was born July 20, 1918, was the son of Blanche (Remington) and Dayton, and grew up in Greenville, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, the former Betty Slater also of Greenville, PA, and 3 brothers, Ray, Wesley, and Harold. He was a graduate of Penn. H.S., class of '36, and Thiel College, and he served in the USCG during WWII. Mr. Greenfield was a long time member of Fort Wayne Baptist. He was the former manager of the G.C. Murphy Co. in Southtown Mall in Fort Wayne and also managed stores in Kokomo and Peru during a career spanning 42 years. He was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce and was also past president of the Retail Association of Peru, the Greater Kokomo Retail Merchants, and the Southtown Mall Merchants Association. He worked for Century 21 Bradley in Fort Wayne for 12 years after retiring from the G.C. Murphy Co. Lloyd was a past president and 50 year member of the Lion's club, a 50 year member of the Masons and 25 year member of the Scottish Rite. He is survived by two sons; John of Lebanon, IL and Gary of Charlotte, NC, and one granddaughter, Jessica. A funeral celebrating his life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at D. O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Dr. William A. Deans officiating. Calling from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
