Lois N. Spruiell
February 11, 1937-July 11, 2011

Mrs. Spruiell, 73, was born in Jasper, Al. She was the first woman Command Controller for the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) and retired from the position in 1992. She was preceded in death by her husband LTC Col Johnie B. Spruiell; father- George Wilburn Norris and step son- Butch Spruiell.
She is survived by her mother- Bertha Mae Norris; Sister -Geraldine Redmill and her husband Edward; Daughter- Gwendolyn Scivally and husband Mike; step daughter-Linda Cary and husband Mike; daughter-n-law -Joni Haas and husband Scott; Grandsons -Joel Austin and wife Celeste, Brian Chapman and wife Lisa and Bradley Spruiell; great grandchildren- Joel Jr. and Cassidy Austin and Jonathon Chapman ; three nephews and one niece.
The Funeral Service will be Thursday at 2:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home in Huntsville, Al.. The visitation will be Thursday at 1:00pm till 2:00pm with Rev. David Byrd officiating. The interment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
