Lorenza Rodriguez Gomez passed away in her hometown of Stockton on the day after Thanksgiving at the age of 91. She was born to Lorenzo Rodriguez Jr. and Mary Rodriguez in Mendota, CA. She was a lifelong resident of California, except for living a couple of years in Mexico when she and husband Jose Rodriguez Sr. farmed acreage in the late 1950's. She was raised by her widowed mother, Mary Rodriguez, in Riverbank before marrying Jose. Later in life she was married to the late Rudy Gomez of Stockton. Lorenza was a homemaker, agricultural products inspector, and later a nanny. She is survived by sons, Jose (Florence) Rodriguez Jr., and Rudolph (Rose Mary) Rodriguez and daughter, Mary (Jerry) Barker, brother Rudolph Rodriguez Sr. of Hacienda Heights, sisters, Katherine Mendoza of Stockton and Athena (Ray) Copeland of Oregon, many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Robert (Dolores) and Cruz Rodriguez. "Lencha" will be missed by many for the years of love she gave her family, in-laws, friends, and compadres.
Mass will take place at St. Luke's Catholic Church 3847 N. Sutter St., Stockton, on December 2, 2011 at 12:30 p.m.
Visitation will be held on Thursday December 1, from 1 pm to 6 pm with a Rosary at 6 P.M. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton, CA.
Burial will be at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery
