Lorenzo R. Alatorre
1960 – 2011

"Un corazon de oro dejo de palpitar. Descansaron las manos trabajadoras. Dios quebro nuestros corazones para mostrarnos que solo se lleva lo mejor."
("A heart of gold stopped beating. The hard working hands are now resting. God broke our hearts to show us that he only takes the best.")

Lorenzo Alatorre, was born on September 5, 1960 to Antonio and Imelda Alatorre, in Penjamo, Guanajuato, Mexico and was raised in Ventura County. He fought like a warrior in his battle with cancer and peacefully went to a better place with our Lord Jesus Christ on August 28, 2011. Like the footprints in the sand, when only one set of footprints were seen in the sand that was when our Lord was carrying him.
"Larry" or "Lore" was a warm hearted, hard working and very generous father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend that will always live in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Imelda Alatorre, and we now have two angels watching over us from Heaven.
Larry enjoyed soccer, music and most of all spending time with his family. He was always busy working on the railroad transit services in L.A. as a signal and train control installer, working at home and helping family members with home projects or problems with plumbing, electrical, auto mechanics and many other things. He was very knowledgeable in all trades and he was always willing to help and teach others.
He is survived by his loving wife Laura; his daughters Lesly and Libby; his son Luke Michael; his father Antonio; his brothers Francisco, Pedro Felix, and Antonio; his sisters Irma, Graciela, Maria, Hilda, Susana, Silvia, Claudia and Diana and a host of nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his in-laws Jose and Teresa Godinez and his other brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews in the Godinez family. He will truly be missed by all who knew him!
