Mrs. Lorraine C. (Ustaszewski) Shanahan, age 69, of Peabody, died unexpectedly at Salem Hospital on Wednesday February 6, 2013. She was the loving wife of Kenneth P. Shanahan, with whom she shared 39 years of marriage. Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Nora (Abramczyck) Ustaszewski and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1961, and Beverly Hospital School of Practical Nursing. A resident of Peabody for the last 40 years, Lorraine worked as a nurse at Beverly Hospital, Union Hospital, and Phillips Manor Nursing Home in Lynn. She was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Peabody. She was a kind and generous woman. She enjoyed Bingo nights at St. Mike's and weekend shopping trips with her best friends. She was an incredible grandmother and loved her grandchildren with all her heart. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Jason Shanahan and his wife Mary of Reading; her daughter; Kathy Leach and her husband David of Peabody; four grandchildren; Connor and Aidan Leach along with Megan and Abby Shanahan, her sister; Barbara Wolkowich of Virginia; her brother, William F. Ustaszewski of Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 4-8PM at Spinelli's Function Hall, Rt. 1 South, Lynnfield, MA. Relatives and friends are repectfully invited. Arrangements by the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt 129), Lynn.
