Lou was the proud owner of his own parts store, Metro Auto Parts and Supplies, located on State Road with his co-partner Jim. They enjoyed what they did together for almost 10 years and created a family of great people. He worked hard to make ends meet and at the end of the day you could not have asked for a better individual. He loved working in the yard and man did his yard look good; the flowers where always so neatly trimmed and beautiful. He had a green thumb to say the least. When not outdoors he enjoyed sitting down and playing poker online or occasionally he enjoyed a night out with some of his close friends. He also loved his church, bible study and friends he made at Good Shepherd United Methodist church. He offered all that he could in means of time and money to make sure the church was doing alright. Lou was also a die heart Browns fan and always knew they would have to get better next year, or so he hoped. With every loss he stayed positive and with every win he cheered and he never lost faith in his team.
Lou was always there for his wife Marla, daughter Chelsey and their newer addition Macklin the dog. He was a loyal husband and a wonderful dad who put them first before anything or anyone. He was always at his daughter's basketball games when she was in high school and supported through her years in college as she headed down the part to get a nursing degree. He supported his wife through the long nights of working and was always there to help in anyway. Many of the neighbors and friends on the street saw Lou walking the dog loyally every morning and evening after work, he loved that dog and Mack grew a special place in his heart.
Lou Salerno was a wonderful man and those who knew him knew that all to well. He is and will be missed by many for a long time and life will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, acquaintances, and his wife and daughter who will always have a part of him deep within their heart. Please take the time to remember Lou and all the wonderful memories you have had with him.
