Louis Gregory LaSorsa, Former President and CEO of Phoenix Color Corp., 66, of Waynesboro, PA, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Louis was born to Sam and Nellie LaSorsa, January 9, 1946 in New Hyde Park, NY. Louis graduated from the New York High School of Printing in 1964 and received a B.A. from The Rochester institute of Technology in 1968. Louis, along with his father Sam, founded Phoenix Color Corp. in 1979 in Long Island City, NY. In 1992 he moved the company headquarters to Hagerstown, Maryland where the business grew into a leader in the printing industry. He developed several patents that revolutionized printing. In 2008 Louis retired, leaving behind a legendary career in the industry. Louis was also an avid supporter, benefactor, and member of the Montessori School Board. He was an admirer of the Arts and loved Opera. Louis was also a devoted New York Yankees fan. Louis is survived by his loving wife and partner of 12 years Amy Bonner LaSorsa, his mother Nellie LaSorsa, his three sisters: Nancy LaSorsa, Valerie Hartman, Annell Pepe and his children: Kerry Balsamo, Jeffrey LaSorsa, Anna Succes, Nicholas LaSorsa, Sam LaSorsa, Christina LaSorsa, Colin Myers, Kristin Valentine, Mallory Cowan, Paige Cowan and Stephanie Baker, and his grandchildren: Michael, Gia and Amanda Balsamo, Domenic and Maliah Valentine, Jude Wetzel, Lilah Maus, Alessia Succes and Haydn LaSorsa. Louis was preceded in death by his father, Samuel LaSorsa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, February 11, 2011 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 North Broad Street, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, February 10, 2011 in Grove Bowersox Funeral Home 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro where eulogies will begin at 7:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Louis G. LaSorsa memorial scholarship fund C/O Michael Starr, 875 Ragged Edge Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
