Louis died after a short illness with his loved ones by his side at St. Joseph's Hospital in Stockton on August 22, 2011. He was born on August 8, 1926 to Trinidad and Soledad Medel. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. He retired from Tracy Defense Depot as a Branch Chief with 36 yrs of service. Louis was a caring and affectionate husband, father and grandfather. He never gave up or walked away from any problems or challenges he encountered during his military life, work career, or family life. He is survived by the love of his life, Mary Lou and four adult children, Lisa Godina (Armando), Yvette Hernandez, Maria Teague and Susan Glupker. Surviving siblings, Connie, Sal, Angie, Alfred, Mary, Manuel and Lupe. He dearly loved his grandchildren, Adam, Kara, Maisie, Christian, Darian, Louis and Kimberly, and his great grandchildren, Bianca and Dean.
Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of the Annunciation, Rose & Van Buren St., Stockton on August 26,2011 at1:30 p.m.
Visitation will take place at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton, on August 25, 2011 from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Rosary will be at 5:30 p.m.
Burial at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, Stockton, CA.
