Education: graduated from Annapolis High School
Employment: was a restauranteur who owned and operated Lou's Corner in Eastport until 1975
Military: was a Private First Class in the U.S. Army; served with the 83rd Chemical Mortar Battalion, then with the 3rd Chemical Mortar Battalion; he provided fire support to Darby's Rangers in the Italian Campaign (World War II), then saw action in France and during the invasion of Germany
Hobbies: Sports, particularly Navy football; enjoyed watching nature shows on television and observing wildlife; was a devoted widowed father to his two sons
Parents: the late Samuel and Cecelia Lewnes
Spouse: the late Norma Horsman Lewnes; they married in 1956 and she died in 1961
Sons: Gregory and Nicholas Lewnes, both of Annapolis
Sister: Anna Lewnes Hagner of Annapolis

Visitation: Monday, November 28 from 6-8 PM at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis
Graveside funeral service: Tuesday, November 29 at 10:00 AM at St. Demetrios Cemetery, Annapolis
