Louise Y. St. John died on December 8, 2011 in Albuquerque. She was 75. Louise Yvonne St. John was born to the late Bruce and Lois Hufford, January 28, 1936, in Alva, OK. Lou graduated from Waynoka High School in Waynoka, OK, in 1954 and studied music at the University of Oklahoma. Following an adventure as Secretary to the Ambassador of the U.S. Embassy in Manila, the Philippines, in the early 1960s, Lou moved to Albuquerque to be near her parents, who had retired there. Lou was active for many years as a docent at The Albuquerque Museum and loved music and the arts. Lou is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert M. St. John; a daughter, Sarah St. John, of Albuquerque; a son, Matthew St. John and his wife, Laura, of Portland, OR; a daughter, Anne St. John, of Arlington, VA; and two grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at the Cathedral Church of St. John in Albuquerque on January 27, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception at the Albuquerque Country Club. The reception is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., but may run longer as Lou never wanted to leave a party early. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Albuquerque Museum Foundation in memory of Louise Y. St. John.
