LUVERNE H. HAAG NOVEMBER 22, 1937-OCTOBER 25, 2011 LuVerne Haag of Washougal, WA passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Howard Haag. LuVerne was born and raised in Martin, S.D. After graduating from high school, he moved to Washougal and went to work at the Pendleton Woolen Mills. Later, he went on to work at the Camas paper mill, where he became a journeyman electrician. LuVerne was at the Camas Mill for 37 years. LuVerne was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt, fish, camp, and garden. LuVerne is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joanne L. Haag and his three children, daughters Brenda (Dale) Waggoner and Tracie (John) Banholzer, and son, Dwayne Haag. LuVerne had four granddaughters that were the center of his world, Alex, Mikaela, Emily, and Abby LuVerne was also survived by his eight brothers and sisters, Fred (Judy) Haag, Ray (Bettie) Haag, Stan Haag, LaVonne (Gary) Horton, Judy (Barry) Smith, Suzanne (Rik) Watts, Dan (Vicky) Haag, and Jim (Jill) Haag. LuVerne has requested that there be no memorial service. Rather, he wanted to have a celebration of life. This will be held at the Washougal Community Center, 1661 C St, Washougal, WA. on Sun., Nov. 20 from 1-4 p.m. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas was in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in LuVerne's name may be made to Kaiser Permanente Hospice, 2701 NW Vaughn St., Suite 140, Portland, OR 97210.
