On Thanksgiving Day, at home and with his loving family near, Luchy Roteliuk lost his courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Judy, and their four children, Julie, Luchy, Anthony and Erin, daughter-in-law Liz and son-in-law Greg. He also leaves behind six wonderful grandchildren, Brian, Christopher, Nicole, Danielle, Ava and Ethan, as well as Brian's wife Kristin. Luchy was born to Dan and Ruby Roteliuk in Sawyer, North Dakota, and grew up, along with his older brother Richard, on a farm outside of that city. When Richard choose to stay and work the farm, Luchy set out for the city to get an education, receiving his Bachelor's degree from the University of North Dakota in 1957, the same year he moved to Southern California, and soon after became employed at TRW as an engineer in the aerospace industry, where he worked for almost 50 years. It was there that he met Judy, and they were married in September 1964. They bought a home in Harbor City, where they raised their children, putting all four of them through college before considering that task complete. Family vacations were trips back to the farm, camping and water skiing in the summer, and snow skiing in the winter. It was on these trips that Luchy taught everyone to fish, his love of fishing realized as a small boy on the farm. It was after the kids were older that Luchy and Judy started to travel, visiting or cruising all over the world. After family and friends, it was his love for golf that gave him the most fun and joy, and he taught Judy to golf so she could share in his passion. Luchy was a wonderful and caring husband, father and friend, and he will be missed by all who's life he touched.

In his memory, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who knew and loved Luchy celebrate his life by taking time to reflect on and share the good times spent with him over the years.

God saw you getting weary.
He did what He thought best.
He put his arms around you
And whispered, "Come and rest."

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
