Mrs. Lucille Burkhart Moses

Lucille Uptegraff Burkhart-Moses, 92, only child of Thomas Andrew Uptegraff and Mary Loesel of Swissvale, Pa., passed away July 26, 2010 in Silver Spring, Md. She graduated from Swissvale High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh. She was first married to the late Eugene L. Burkhart of Turtle Creek, Pa., in 1938. In 1995 she married the late Campbell Moses, Jr, MD, of New York City, whom she had known since sixth grade in Swissvale. They resided in New York City and Spring Lake, NJ. After her husband’s death in 2007, she moved to Silver Spring, Md. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Burkhart of London, UK, and two sons, Michael Burkhart of Aiken SC, and Geoffrey Burkhart of Takoma Park, Md. and his partner, Bruce R. Williams. She is also survived by four cousins: Marjorie L. Ziegler and David Uptegraff, both of Pittsburgh, Pa, Peggy L. Hines of Sharpsville, Pa., and Betty L. Grigg of Tulsa, Ok. Interment will be private.
