Schwake, Lura Lucille, "Boots" was born to eternal life on August 8, 2013, in Austin, TX. She was born February, 1928, in Baldwin County, Alabama, to William Vernon and Elberta Pearl Hastings.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Quentin "QC" Schwake, her parents, and her sister Doris. She is survived by her son Curt Schwake of Austin, TX; sister Bonnie Jean Mathews of Lafayette, LA; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Boots was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brenham, and a member and past officer of the Oak Forest Lioness's Club, Brenham Fortnightly Club, Brenham Garden Club and many civic organizations.

She grew up in and around Robertsdale, AL, and worked for the U.S. Navy at the Pensacola NAS, FL, where she met QC. They married in 1949. Following QC's reserve officer training, they moved to Houston where Boots worked for the Social Security Administration. She moved to Brenham, Texas, in 1982 where she retired with QC. They moved to Austin in 2004 to be closer to their son.

Boots was a compassionate woman of strong and enduring spirit who revered God and greatly loved her family and friends.
