Lyle J. Stinson, age 70, of Elsie, MI died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Hurley Medical Center, Flint, MI. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held on Sunday. August 12, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Lyle was born in Owosso, Michigan on December 16, 1941, the son of DeWayne Waldo and Dorothy Maxine (Hickmott) Stinson. He truly enjoyed driving truck across the country. Lyle also loved spending time in his workshop. He liked spending time with his neighbors and friends. Lyle also liked the outdoors, while hunting, farming and spending time up north. He is survived by 3 daughters; Pam and Terry VanHorn of Webberville, MI, Debbie and David Basso of Owosso, MI and Renee and Mike Kouba of Manchester, MI, and 4 grandchildren; Lukas and Logan Weber and John and Jaclyn Basso. In addition to his parents, Lyle was preceded in death by an infant grandson Jacob Allan Basso, sister Nora Giesken and son-in-law Mark Weber. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
