Mable Lambert Wilson, 102, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, October 23, 2011, at her home in Payson, Utah.
Mable was born July 12, 1909, in Pima, Arizona, daughter of John and Adeline Miller Lambert.
She was raised in Arizona, where she met and married Fred Robert Wilson in June of 1925. Together they raised four children before moving to Southern California in 1955. After Fred passed away in 1974, Mable continued to flourish in San Diego, gardening and spending countless hours at the zoo, the park, and Old Town.
In 2005, although she was still active and healthy, she finally consented to move in with a granddaughter, Jennifer Little, in Payson, Utah, blessing the lives of that family for the past six years.
Mable was an active learner, reading a wide variety of publications and engaging often in spirited and informed discussions of current events and just about anything you had on your mind. She had a strong testimony of the Savior as a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mable was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Robert Wilson, her daughter, Billie Louise, and her son, Fred.
She is survived by her sons, Norman (Pat) of Springville, UT and George (Kathy) of Orem, UT, and her sister, Helen Henderson (Mesa, AZ). She is loved by 13 grandchildren 45 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandkids.
A viewing will be held in Payson, Utah, on Saturday, October 29, at 9:45 AM. The funeral will follow at 11:00. Both will be held at the Mt. Nebo Stake Center at 608 West 1400 South, Payson.
Mable will be buried on Monday beside her husband, Fred, at Double Butte Cemetery in Tempe, Arizona. A graveside service will precede the burial at 11:00 MST.
