Madge L. Hendrick, 83, passed away June 19 at Westwood Health and Rehab following several months of declining health.
Madge was born in Jamestown, August 17, 1928, a daughter of the late Harry E. and Leota Hendrick. Madge was a faithful lifelong member of Highland United Methodist Church, a member of the choir, a Sunday School teacher and active in many church functions. She was a beautician in High Point for over fifty years, retiring from Bell-La-Casa. Madge enjoyed cooking, reading and crocheting and was beloved by her family and many friends. Madge was preceded in death by her sister, Nellie Castillo, two brothers, John Hendrick and Stanley E. Hendrick.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Carolyn Hendrick of Winston Salem, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and her best friend, Helen Brewer.
A Celebration of Madge's Life will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by the Rev. Jeff Sypole. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1 p.m. until the service. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Westwood Health and Rehab for their loving care of Madge. Memorials may be directed to Highland United Methodist Church.
