Whalen, Malcolm Joseph "Pops", 81 went home to be with the Lord and join his beloved wife Dorothy and son Scott on Oct. 29, 2011. Malcolm was a Sergeant in the Army during the Korean War and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He then went to work as an engineer for Martin Marietta for 42 yrs. Some of his accomplishments included working on Apollo Spacecraft designs, but his true passion was for his wife, children and the outdoors. Malcolm enjoyed boating and fishing and loved to spend time at his second home in Oak Hill with family. Pops was always the man with a plan and could fix most anything he set his mind to. He is survived by sons, Steven, Joseph, Michael; daughter Dorothy Dayton, son-in-law William, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
