Malik Ashanti Williams, age 19, of Garfield, NJ died tragically on Saturday, December 10, 2011. Malik was born and raised in Paterson, NJ on April 21, 1992, before moving to Garfield more than five years ago. As a young adult, Malik loved to play Xbox 360 as well as enjoying karate and playing with his cat, Patches whom he called "Meatball". Throughout his life, Malik was known to be a friendly fun loving person to both friends and his family. Malik is survived by: his mother, Shirley Williams and father, Hector Garcia; beloved father to Xzavier Malik Williams and boyfriend to Jasmine Rivera; devoted brother of Daquan Williams and Brian Scialla Garcia; sister of Ternice Ramos, Melinda and Andrea Scialla Garcia; nephew of Patricia and Leroy Brown, Larry Hendricks, Marie and Linda Moore, Jerry Callins and Doreatha Williams; and a host of cousins and friends.
