Marcella T. Geiszler was born March 30, 1926 in Chicago Illinois, from her parents Elliott and Florence Olsson, and died at her lake house surrounded by her children on July 17, 2009. Raised near Portland Oregon, Marcella graduated from Milwaukee High School in 1944. In high school, Marcella was active in clubs and sports and lettered in softball. After attending Oregon State University, Marcella worked for a Portland stockbroker as a bookkeeper. She married Leonard W. Geiszler in 1949, and they settled in Billings Montana and had four children: John, Steven, Timothy and Kathryn. Marcella and her family lived in the Midwest and the South, and were in Knoxville, Tennessee when Leonard retired. Leonard and Marcella moved to Flathead Lake in 1985, to a house they had built with the children over 15 summer vacations. Marcella's children and husband were the focus of her life and she was the anchor of the family. Her family learned from her words and from the way she lived. Marcella's kindness, generosity, and unconditional loving attitude will carry on in all who knew her. She was strong in her faith and active in every church she belonged. Marcella was a talented painter in watercolors and other media. She enjoyed many friends who often described Marcella as incredibly kind and one of the most caring and loving women they had known. Marcella was preceded in death by her son John and husband Leonard. She is survived by her sons, Steven of Kalispell and Timothy (Shelley) of Missoula: her daughter, Kathryn Baddour (Phillip) of Pulaski, Tennessee: and grandsons, Andrew Colbrook Baddour, Evan Phillip Baddour, Samuel Olsson Geiszler, and Alexander Olsson Geiszler. She is also survived by her brother Elliott Olsson and her sister Connie Olsson, both of Eugene, Oregon. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Polson, Montana, at 10:30 am. Internment will occur in Billings, Montana at the Sunset Memorial Gardens on Sunday, July 26, at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family urges a gift in Marcella's name at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Polson. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family online at www.groganfuneralhome.com. Grogan Funeral Home, Polson, is assisting the family.
