Margaret A. Blackmon, 99 a resident of Albuquerque since 1943, died Thursday, December 15, 2011. She is survived by her son, Anthony (Andy) Haynes and wife, Anna of Coarsegold, CA; five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was born October 1, 1912 in Philadelphia, PA to William and Anna Sword. In 1932, she received her Bachelors Degree as a dietician. She relocated to Panama in 1937 where she met and married her late husband, Hurschell C. Haynes, a Captain in the Army Air Corps. In 1942 they were transferred to Kirtland Field, Albuquerque, NM. Margaret worked as a dietician at the Veteran's Hospital, and retired from the B.I.A. Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. During this time she received her Master's Degree from the University of New Mexico. Margaret enjoyed her church activities, and meetings at the Kirkland Air Force Base, traveling, golfing, swimming, sewing and shopping. A Memorial Mass will be held in June of 2012, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, in Albuquerque, NM Remembrances may be made to the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish School Fund - 1818 Coal Place SE, Albuquerque, N.M. 87106.
