Margaret Cooney Bellarmino, age 99, a resident at the Jewish Home of Eastern PA died Wednesday morning at Moses Taylor Hospital. She was preceded in death by both husbands, Francis Walsh and Dr. Francis Bellarmino. Born in Moosic, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Ethel Mae Topp Cooney. She attended the former Moosic High School During her lifetime she was active in many social organizations when she resided in Philadelphia, Lancaster, and Clark Summit. She was a member of VISA at Allied Services for twenty years and received a certificate from Telespond Senior Services for providing invaluable service to the community within the Friendly Visiting/Tele-A-Care Program. A long-time member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, Scranton, she was involved in the Fellowship Group and the Women of Hickory. She also was a dedicated supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hosipital. Surviving are two sisters, Frances Hartnett, Scranton; and Evelyn Poli, Troy, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Bessie Myers and three brothers, James, Joseph and Kenneth Cooney. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Tom H. Collins, Pastor, Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. in the Thomas P. Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Interment will follow in the Langcliffe Cemetery, Avoca. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 10 to 11 A.M. Memorial contributions may be made in Margaret's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
