Margaret Mary Frech, 90, died peacefully Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Lake Taylor Transitional Hospital. Margaret was a resident of Virginia Beach since 1973 when she moved here with her husband, Ed J. Frech, who became president and general manager of WAVY TV. Prior to moving to the Hampton Roads area, Margaret lived in Richmond, VA for 7 years. Coming to Virginia from California, Margaret and Ed raised their children in Fresno, CA where they lived for 20 years. The couple was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a devout Catholic and found much comfort in her faith and her commitment to prayer, especially the rosary. She always enjoyed time with family and playing bridge with friends. She is survived by her two children: Gregory and his wife Georgie Frech of Virginia Beach, VA and Terry Finder of Asheville. She had six grandchildren, EJ and his wife Tracy Frech of Salt Lake City, UT, Dina and her husband Kevin Armstrong of Richmond, VA, Chris Frech of Salt Lake City, UT, Nick Frech of Gainesville, Kevin Finder of Virginia Beach, VA and Ryan Finder of Asheville. She has five great-grandchildren, Maddy, Charlie and Andrew Frech and Lauren and Kiersten Armstrong. A funeral mass will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with Fr. Cristiano Brito, O.S.B. officiating. The burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park. A Rosary service will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel where the family will remain to greet friends until 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
