Mrs. Maria (Abraham) de Freitas died on Sunday September 18, 2011. She was 90 years old. Mrs. de Freitas was born and raised in Port of Spain, Trinidad. She lived there until moving to Monroe Twp. in 2006. She was a homemaker her entire life. She was a former parishioner of St. Martin de Porres, Trinidad and a current parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. She is survived by her husband, Cecil de Freitas of Monroe Twp., five daughters, Janet Lee of Springfield, Margaret de Freitas of Hillside, Helen Romeo of Irvington, Gemma Julien and her husband Neville of Monroe Twp., and Deborah Foderingham of Hillside, two sons, Ronald de Freitas and his wife Florette of Brooklyn, and Michael de Freitas and his wife Caroline of Westfield, 8 Grandsons, 5 Granddaughters, 4 Great Granddaughters, and 6 Great Grandsons. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am Saturday September 24, 2011 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. followed by Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Friday at the funeral home. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to NJ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
