Marianne Vosilla Levy passed away December 8, 2011 after a 4 year struggle with cancer at the age of 73.
Marianne was born in Scarborough N.Y. and graduated from Briarcliff and Westchester College with an assoc. BS in medical Technology in 1959. She worked 8 years at New York Hospital, Westchester division before moving to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, working in research part of that time.
In 1967 Marianne met Syd on the beach in Miami where he was vacationing. In 1968 they married, moved to Orlando and started United Trophy Manufacturing, at their N. Orange Ave. location.
Marianne was everything - engraver, bookkeeper, and Public Relations person helping United Trophy grow to one of America's largest retail awards manufactures.
In 1982 Marianne was the inspiration for starting Flea World & Fun World in Sanford, Americas largest Flea Market.
She was an avid supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida and served on many local boards – Cornell Fine Arts Museum, Maitland Library board, Florida Programs Inc. (Foster Grandparents &RSVP) Orlando Regional Hospital Auxiliary Board and is a Lifetime member of Women's Resource Center. She felt blessed to be a part of the growing Central Florida community.
She loved travelling, having visited over 75 countries with her husband Syd, sisters and friends. She fell in love with Africa and treasured most, her 4 African Safari adventures.
She leaves behind her dear husband Syd – two wonderful sisters Jeanne Willie, Rita Jacobs and husband Wes, 3 beloved nephews; David & Peter Denhard and Wayne Jacobs. She also leaves behind dear friends, neighbors and employees who added so much happiness and warmth to her life and especially her later years with Cancer.
The family will receive friends at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home Ivanhoe Chapel on Tuesday December 13, 2011 from 5pm to 8pm (407-898-8111).
Services will be held at the Ivanhoe Chapel on Wednesday December 14, 2011 at 10 am with Interment at Glen Haven Cemetery immediately following.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Comforter or Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.
