Marie Alton, 89 of Parkersburg passed away May 19, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born in Jackson Co. WV. the daughter of the late James Earl and Margaret Rake Masten.
She had been emloyed at one time by the O Ames Co., the American Viscose, Bureau of Public Debt and had retired from the Stork's Bakery and also volunteered at the Public Library. Marie loved baking and cooking for family and friends, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, crossword puzzles and camping, she loved the springtime of the year. She was a member of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Russell E. Alton of Parkersburg; Her Children, Gary Alton of Parkersburg, Cathy Shea and her husband Joe of Katy, TX. and Randy Alton and his wife Robbin of Parkersburg.
Her Grandchildren, Matt Alton, Lindsay Alton, Michael Shea, Jeramiah Alton, Alee Alton and Troy Alton.
She was preceded in death by her Brothers, John and Harry Masten and her Sisters, Mildred Mace, Pearl Rollins and Alice Masten.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Evangelist Edgar Beagle officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 PM and Saturday from Noon until service time.
