Marie Annie Bell Williams was the second of two children born to the late Jeffrie and Etta Mae Sauls (Lee) on August 13, 1936 in Austin, TX. On Friday, July 23, 2010 at the age of 73, she was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. She was united in marriage to John Hugo Williams IV on November 3, 1956 and from this union five children were born. Marie was a vibrant, energetic child who loved riding her favorite bicycle, skating and playing softball. She attended Holy Cross Catholic School and the public schools of Austin. She graduated from Anderson High School where she played bass clarinet in the Anderson High School marching band. Being exposed to the teachings of her Christian parents, Marie accepted Christ at an early age. During her Christian years, she was baptized at the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the young children’s choir, attended Sunday school regularly and was a faithful young church member. Marie become a member of the Truelight Baptist Church before becoming a member of The R.O.C.K. Austin. Marie graduated from the Holy Cross School of Nursing in 1955. She began her nursing career at Holy Cross Hospital until the hospital's closing in 1989. She continued her nursing career at Seton Hospital until having to take disability leave in 1991. Marie was an avid traveler, having traveled to New Mexico, California, Virginia, Florida, Michigan, New York, Connecticut; and the countries of Jamaica and England. Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Jeffrie and Etta Mae Sauls. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, John; and 5 children, Pamela Houston (Vincent), John Williams V and Shelia Williams all of Austin, TX; Jacqueline Maldonado (Robert) of Heimsheim, Germany, Cynthia Williams of Los Angeles, CA and a very special daughter Tenya Williams of Austin, TX. She is also survived by nine grandchildren LaTesheia Williams, Joshua Williams, Tatiaunna Maldonado, Robert Maldonado III, Mariah Williams, LaDarrien Williams, Isaiah Williams, Tyra Williams and Ariana Houston; and three great grandchildren Jaidyn Jones, Armani Jones and Christian Jones. She also leaves one sister Bobbie Ewing of Flint, Michigan, a step mother Juanita Sauls of Austin and four loving cousins Richard Lee (Janice) of Austin TX, James Lee (Betty) and William Lee (Kathy) both of Sacramento CA, Vernell Lee of Houston, TX and a host of extended family and friends.
