Marilyn D. King, 57, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Born in Middlesboro, KY, Marilyn loved spending time with her grandson and was an avid Lady Bug collector. She enjoyed flowers and crafts and was a very passionate animal lover. Surviving are her companion, Don Keesler; and daughter, Angila Gilbert both of Hoagland, IN; sisters, Brenda (James) Bowman and Jeannie Carver of Ft. Wayne and Patti (Eugene) Scharpenberg of Hoagland; Bonnie of NC, brother David King of MI, grandson, Tyler Gilbert; and granddaughter, Ashley. She will also be greatly missed by her nieces Christine, Autumn, Kathryn Marquardt, Lisa Scharpenberg, Jennifer (Chris) Marquardt and a nephews Chad Scharpenberg, Tony Martin and Jim (Rene) Bowman. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Carl King and Walda Mae Bock; step-father, Garrette Martin; and sister, Pamela Martin. Service is 6pm, August 30, 2012 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Pastor David Trimble officiating with calling one hour prior. Visitation is 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Brenda Bowman or SPCA.
