Marilyn, age 67, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 after an extended illness. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George William Monroe; an infant daughter, Brenda Sue Disher; brother, Jeffrey Keith McVicker; and her parents, Robert Arthur and Faye Mariam McVicker. Surviving Marilyn are her daughters, Pamela Sue Woodyard (Jeffrey) and Teresa Lynn McCabe (Richard); granddaughters, Ashton Faye Hartman (Matthew Sr.) and Brittaney Marie Woods; grandson, Brandon Michael Woods; and great-grandchildren, Matthew A. Hartman, Jr. and Adrianna Brooke Hartman. Marilyn is also survived by sisters, Sondra Jean Zeck (Walter II), and Beverly Ruth Marcrum (James); brothers, Robert Emerson McVicker (Carol), John Thomas McVicker (Mary), and James Arthur McVicker (Kathy) plus numerous nieces and nephews. Marilyn graduated from Libbey High School in 1962 and spent most of her working career as a secretary for different non-profit agencies with her last position as a secretary for Crossroads Community Church, where she was an active member. Marilyn was involved in several different ministries and fellowship Bible studies and small groups. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 1-3:00pm at Crossroads Community Church, 6960 Sylvania-Petersburg Rd. Ottawa Lake, MI. The family asks that memorials be made to the March of Dimes, the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, Crossroads Community Church, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
