Marinell Gaas November 2, 1938 ~ September 3, 2011 A Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Marinell Gaas, 72, of Caldwell, will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 with Fr. Ed Karasek, Fr. Tom Hanus and Fr.Brion Zarsky acting as Celebrants. Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. After a courageous battle with cancer, Mrs. Gaas died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at St. Joseph Manor Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born November 2, 1938, in the Frenstat Community of Burleson County, the daughter of Willie L. and Rosie (Charanza) Supak. She was baptized in the Frenstat Community and was confirmed in Dime Box. She was married to Joe Frank Gaas on November 5, 1955 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was a seamstress and homemaker. She enjoyed her sewing, playing dominos, doing gardening and going fishing and dancing. She was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxillary Post #4458 of Caldwell. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, a brother, Ray Supak, a sister, Cookie Veselka, and a brother, Roy Supak. She is survived by her brother Willie L. Supak, Jr. of El Mont ; her constant companion, Art Windell of Caldwell; her sister-in-law, Rose Supak of China Spring, brothers-in-law Jerry Veselka brother-in-law and sister-in-law Henry and Mildred Gaas of Caldwell; her aunt, Liddie Zgabay of Somerville; along with numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. The family has requested that memorials be made to the Holy Rosary Cemetery Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
