Mario Donald Delfiacco passed away Monday morning, July 11, 2011; he was 91 years old and resided in Altamonte Springs for 31 years. Born in 1920, son of Alesandro and Beatrice Delfiacco, he was one of six children. Mario served as a Seaman First Class in the Navy from 1942-1945. He met his long time love, Betty, at age 30, and they were married for 60 years; together, they raised six children. He is a retired proprietor of Muzzy’s Bar & Grill in Midland, PA. He was a devout Catholic, a devoted husband and father, and a true man of character. Most people knew him as “Muzzy”, “the Storyteller”, “Poppi”, and “the Candyman.” His hobbies included singing and listening to jazz music, gardening, and going to the gym. He was a spiritual man who had a zeal for life, and brought smiles and laughter to those who knew him. His most joyful and prideful moments were those spent with his family, as they were what he valued most in life. He is survived by his wife Betty, son Mario and wife Francie of Atlanta, GA, daughter Alexis and husband Jerry Comunale of Sewickly Heights, PA, daughter Cynthia and husband Dwaine Willett of Bluffton, SC, daughter Janet Delfiacco and Michael Rosenfeld of Winter Springs, and son David and wife Mary Beth of Apopka, FL; his grandchildren Angela Chansey, Mario Delfiacco Jr., Noelle Comunale, and Bradley and Caroline Delfiacco; his brother Albert Delphia, and predeceased son Mark. Visitation will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, West Altamonte Chapel, Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m., and funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of the Comforter, 480 W. Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714.
