Marion Vaughan Tripp, age 100, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2012, at Sentara Nursing Center in Hampton, VA. Mrs. Tripp was born December 1, 1911, in Franklin, VA to the late Lemuel W. Vaughan and Mary Ricks. She was the eleventh child and had fond memories growing up on the farm surrounded by a large loving family. Mrs. Tripp married the late Stuart A. Tripp and they made their home in Norfolk, VA. She was a talented homemaker who loved to sew, cook and entertain family and friends. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, VA where she faithfully volunteered for many years. She was also preceded in death by her son, Stuart A. Tripp, Jr. Mrs. Tripp was a beloved grandmother who was such a positive role model to her grandchildren and everyone who knew her. Survivors include a granddaughter, Carey T. Scott and her husband Kenneth of Mechanicsville, VA; a grandson, Stuart A. Tripp III and his wife Lana of Midlothian, VA; a great- grandchild, Claire Scott; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012, in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, VA.
