Marisue Blythe Mebane, age 78, passed away in her home July 29 after suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Marisue was born August 11, 1930 to James Eben and Annie Laurie Blythe in Denton Texas. She graduated from Jefferson High School and shortly after met Doug, her husband of almost sixty years. His career in the civil service gave them the opportunity to travel world wide and live in Morocco and Hawaii where they enjoyed meeting many wonderful lifelong friends. Marisue had a knack for throwing the best parties and was always ready to feed anyone who walked through her door. She always greeted her friends with a sparkle in her eyes and a beautiful smile. She sang in the choir at Covenant and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. She was THE BEST wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all. Marisue was predeceased by her daughter Laura Lee Stich, son in law Larry Sobczyk and brother in law Ferd Maese. She is survived by her husband Douglas Hamilton Mebane, Jr.; sister Dorothy Ann Maese; daughters Lindsey Ann Kearns and Marisue (AKA Penny) Sobczyk; son Douglas H. Mebane, III (& Jayne); son in law Wil Stich; nephew Steve Maese (& Rose); grand daughters Jennifer Matjeka, Lauren Cagle (& Mario), Laura Jayne Mebane; grandsons Jason Kearns (& Sandra); Gunner (AKA Trigger) Matjeka, James Arthur (AKA Jak) Kearns (& Tracy), Daniel Kearns (& Cassie) and Scott Speir along with numerous great grand children. Donations in lieu of flowers to go to Covenant Presbyterian Church.
