Marjorie Jean Wheeler Gross, 84, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, formerly a resident of Virginia Beach, VA, left this world to go home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday the 31st of July 2011. A native of Susquehanna, PA, she lived most of her life in Virginia Beach. She was the daughter of the late Linus and Ruby Wheeler. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Martin E. Gross, Sr.; her son, Martin E. Gross, Jr.; two brothers, John Wheeler and Leon Wheeler; and one sister, Josie Wheeler Burdick. She is survived by three daughters, Sharon G. Ressler and husband Larry of Chesapeake, VA, Audrey G. Carden and husband Stuart of Kill Devil Hills, NC, and Deborah L. Hardison and husband Ted of Woodstock, GA; one son, Steven W. Gross and wife Laura of Kitty Hawk, NC; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two sisters; and three brothers. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, with Pastor John Rowland officiating. The burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
