Parmele, Marjorie Lee, 88, of Douglass, Ks. passed away Tuesday February 07, 2012 in Rose Hill, KS. She was born February 26, 1923 in Columbus, KS. Marjorie DeVoe married Jack Parmele in 1941 in Girard, KS. She worked odd jobs in her younger years, one such employer was J.C. Penney. She traveled through many states, from coast to coast; the north border to the south border; having lived in Kansas, Texas, Florida, California and Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Marie DeVoe; brother, Robert; sisters, Theda and Sally, all formerly of Columbus, KS. Marjorie is survived by her husband Jack of the home; sons, J. Dennis (Loretta) of War Eagle, AR., Robert C. (Sondra) of Douglass, KS.; daughter, M. LuAnn Baker (Terry) of Kansas City, MO.; brother, Ned L. DeVoe of Columbus, KS.; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, February 09, 2012 5:00-8:00pm with services to follow Friday at 2:00pm, both at Lakeview Funeral Home.
