WHITSON - Marjorie Whitson was born January 31, 1921 in Cleveland, MT. She has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1950. She went to be with the Lord in her new home on January 10, 2012. Marjorie was a graduate of Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She married her husband Ralph in 1945 and moved to Albuquerque, NM to raise their family in 1950. Marjorie and Ralph were married for 57 years. Marjorie was an active member of PEO for over 50 years, serving as its president for two terms. Marjorie and Ralph were active members of Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Marjorie was an unselfish servant of the Lord constantly putting the needs of others before her own. Family, friends and neighbors always found her to be a kind, compassionate companion, helping whenever needed. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Emmalin Kimball; her brother, Bill; and her loving and devoted husband, Ralph. Marjorie is survived by four children, Cheryl Cox and husband Stan of Omaha, NE, John Whitson and wife Gayle, Paul Whitson and wife Nancy, and Jim Whitson and wife Stephanie, all from Albuquerque, NM. Marjorie is also survived by eight grandchildren, Joseph Cox and Kimball Vredeveld of Omaha, NE, Michael Whitson of Leander, TX, Mollie Whitson, Ashley Warpinski, Jennifer Whitson, Whitney Whitson, and Luke Whitson, all of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Joshua, Brooklyn, Cole, Kaden, Leah, and Finley. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle Blvd SE, 87106. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Cottey College, 8300 Carmel Ave. NE, Suite 502, Albuquerque, NM 87122, or Immanuel Presbyterian Church, or Presbyterian Foundation/Hospice, Attn: Cindy, P.O. Box 26666, Albuquerque, NM 87125-26666.
