Mark lived with our family from just before his third birthday through his fourth birthday. Being the "baby" of the family, I didn't much like having him moving in to take over my spot. Mark was Cliff's second son from his second marriage. Unfortunately for Mark, Cliff and Jan split not too long after being married. I suppose they were married for about five years or so. I was too young to know at the time and don't know now.

My mother, Mark's Aunt Eloise, told me about ten years or so ago that Mark had called her once when he was living in Pryor, OK. I never talked to Mark after he left Oklahoma. I would have liked to have been able to contact him but he didn't tell Mom how to reach him. I don't know how he found Mom because she had remarried about three and a half years after Dad died. With a different last name I don't know how he did it.

I wish he had called me but he did not. I have wondered over the years if he might have returned to CA.

Reading Aunt Jan's message here makes me think I would have gotten along well with him. From what she said about his playing basketball, my favorite sport, and how he was a lot of fun reminds me of my Dad. Maybe some of our family "rubbed off" on him while he lived with us.

I was saddended to hear of Mark's early death. Wish I could have known him throughout life.

Thank you Pennie for sending the articles to Mom about the family history. That was very nice of you. Sorry for your loss.

My son was a joy to be with and my very best friend. In wschool he loved sports and I never missed a Football or Basketball game he played in. His sense of humor was one of a kind he was really funny. I will always hold him close in my heart forever and charish all the memories we shared.
