Mark Reed Jones passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2011. He was born May 16, 1976 in Payson, Utah to Philip Earl and Joan Kotter Jones. He grew up in Payson and graduated in 1994 from Payson High School, where he was a gifted student with a strong will and desire to excel.

Mark married Marilyn Judy Thomas in Payson on August 22, 1997. With her help he graduated from the University of Utah in 2007 as a Civil Engineer. Mark worked for G & J Construction and subsequently worked for the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) where he was employed at the time of his death.

Mark is survived by Marilyn, the love of his life, and three adorable children Kate, Wade and Piper. Also by his father Philip E Jones, 5 sisters Julie (Russ) Harward, Linda (Ray) Rowley, Susan (Chris) Hailstone, Debra (Todd) Sperry, Diane (Rich) Payne and 4 brothers Alan (Gery), David (Jan), Reed (Erin) and Gordon (Ali); he is preceded in death by his beloved mother Joan.

Mark is an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed the outdoors with his family and friends, while camping, boating, hunting, riding horses and working his dogs. Most of all he strived to be a loving husband and father.

A public visitation will be held Friday March 4, 2011 6pm-8pm at Walker Mortuary in Payson at 587 South 100 West. A visitation will also be held Saturday March 5 at the Lake Shore LDS chapel 5916 South 3200 West from 9:45am-10:45am, with funeral services beginning at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Payson City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made at any Wells Fargo Bank in the name of the Mark Jones Family.
