Mrs. Marlene L. Betts

My sister, Marilyn and I, spent many happy hours at Aunt Mary and Uncle Louie's home on E. 266 in Euclid. Marlene and her sister Karen were not only our cousins, but our best friends.

Marlene will be missed.

I have known Marlene for more than 51 years. I have always found her to be a
caring, loving, and compassionate friend. She had a genuine concern for all,
and was always very generous. She loved to entertain and found a way to bring together a very interesting mix of people. I admired her intelligence. Marlene
will be greatly missed.

Marlene was a truly generous person. I will miss all the get-togethers at her house; it will be difficult to break the habit of looking for her every time I drive by. I have great memories there of practicing for drill team try-outs, Christmas parties, & Erin's wedding shower.

You have always been a special person to me...and you always will be.

Aunt Mar was my inspiration, she was strong no matter what life threw in front of her, she always smiled and went on. It was almost as if she was invincible, or maybe it was just that I wanted her to be so she would never go away :( She was honest, funny, loving and so extremely special!!!

Even in the very end Aunt Mar was still watching over me (I say this with tears streaming down my face). I sent an e-mail to her when I wanted to call my mom and felt that it was time to reconnect, she called my mom, sent her that e-mail and then called me to say yes, yes, yes...my mom wanted that too! A few months later I was in Colorado meeting my mom and sister again after 32+ years, Aunt Mar had wanted to see us reunite for MANY years and I know it made her VERY happy to hear that we were together and that her sister was finally at peace having her daughter back. She died 1 week after I came back home from seeing my mom. It didn't matter how sick she was, she still cared about taking care of everyone else.

I love you Aunt Mar and I miss you and so does mom and Jen.

Aunt Marlene had a genius for making everyone around her feel important and special. I looked forward to family gatherings in her home, and I always appreciated her hospitality and wit. She was a major source of inspiration in my life, and I am so glad to have known her.

We moved back to Ohio 8 years ago, and I was so lucky to see Marlene and get closer to her and her family. She was a remarkable lady, inside and out
and she will be so sorely missed. Love to Kathy and Bill and their families.

You have been such an inspiration to me. I will cherish you always. Your honor will be carried on in myself and my children. I love you dearly.

I will always remember taking Gramma's Volvo to the African Wildlife Safari in Marblehead with Erin and Kathy, only to have gramma yelling at the animals for eating her Volvo!!! :-) We spent a lot of great times at the cottage back in high school too. You will be missed Gramma Betts. Thoughts and prayers are with Erin and Kathy and everyone else who knew and loved her.
